Features . . . not much to say since it’s such as simple product. It mixes 4 mono line-level (ie. not microphone) inputs (on 1/4 inch jack plugs), each with its own level control, into one mono output. It is good quality and low-noise (using high quality low noise op-amps) and suitable for many applications, such as sub-mix for a bigger mixer, playing mp3-player or CD-player (etc.) along with a guitar (or other instrument) into a guitar-amp, or any other situation where you need to mix 4 line-level mono sources into a single mono output.
The only “customer complaint” was that one customer didn’t understand that it is a MONO mixer, so can’t mix to a stereo output. So as long as that’s clear, no-one had anything bad to say about it! If you want a stereo mini-mixer, the American Recorder PMIX-100 3-Source Personal Audio Mixer mixes three stereo inputs into one stereo output (plus headphone output), so that would be your choice for stereo, and it gets good user ratings on Amazon.
Alternatives to the MX400 include the stereo mixer mentioned just above which does a rather different job, or the Nady MM-141 4-CHANNEL Mini Mixer which is rated less well by users than the MX400 (the Nady has serious hum problems in certain positions). So the MX400 is definitely rated better by users.
Don’t forget that you might need audio adaptors such as a 1/4 inch Male to 3.5mm Female Adapter, various cables, and maybe a headphone amp.
